About

Gurukripa Farms and Gaushala is a family farm set up in 2022. It was ideated in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic to restore the lost connection with the land and espouse a naturally sustainable way of life. To fulfill this vision, the owner left behind his financially lucrative software engineering career and started building on his idea. The foundation of this initiative was thus set on a 2.5-acre farm property in Maple Valley.

The farm is working on multiple initiatives aimed towards creating a loving and nurturing space for all life being stewarded at the farm. This includes a farm sanctuary for the shelter and protection of native Indian cow species; a no-chemical organic garden to produce nutrient-dense fruits, vegetables, and herbs using cow-based products; community space for teaching Yoga and Pranayama, hosting cultural events and celebrating traditional Indian festivals. Promoting holistic health and well-being is the driving force behind all these initiatives.

A pivotal moment came in May 2022, when two Gyr(aka Gir) cows arrived at the farm sanctuary. Gyr cows are native to India and are known for their superior weather and pest resistance. Despite their superior breed characteristics, they are a vulnerable minority due to their low dairy production value. The farm endeavors to nurture and protect the breed with compassion, protecting them from exploitation and extinction.

Since then, the farm has been abuzz with friends and visitors who have added color and vibrancy to the space. In addition, the grace of the cows has brought with them lush green growth in the garden and bountiful produce which has added vigor and enthusiasm to the operations at the farm.
